Kapayawan Ridge via Ant Farm: Impasug-ong Bukidnon

Update as of 02/01/2018: RIDGE-CLOSED

Kapayawan Ridge is among one of my favorite hike spot.

Kapayawan Ridge
Beautiful Kapayawan Sunrise

Becoming more and more popular around this days, because of its exceptionally panoramic view of mountain ridges.

Located in the Municipality of Impasug-ong, Province of Bukidnon. An average hike time of 1 to 2 hours more or less. Coming from either, Ant Farm Impalutao, Impasug-ong Bukidnon or Sitio Kibuwa, Impalutao/Dalwangan.

A newbie mountain climber? Not a problem. Should I rate it's difficulty level where 10 would be the highest? I'd like to personally rate Kapayawan at 2/10. A little bit challenging but all in all 'Kaya ra!'

What makes it my favorite, is because of its endearing beauty in different 'moods'. Weather has a lot of contributions on how Kapayawan Ridge will show magnificently its beauty.

On a sunny good weather, it is a very beautiful clearing with views of mountain ridges. On a gloomy weather it will show a magnificent bed of clouds. And on a rainy kind of day, get surprised with ridges and mountains barely seen covered with mist.

And it is a beauty. In all its different view.

Scenic I must claimed.

Like a landscape art.

God's work of art. A hand made from heaven. A blessing.

January 2, 2017 when I first meet Kapayawan. And I must admit, I fall in love at first sight.

Kapayawan

I took the entry point at Ant Farm Impalutao, Impasug-ong. Jump off point is at Impalutao Elementary School which is just along syre highway off and from Cagayan de Oro City-Davao City.

Around 4:00am when I left home, and arrived safely around 4:30am. I am actually solo, but I have contacted a guide ahead time who meet me up at Ant Farm.
(*Mandatory: Get a guide whose familiar to the place for safety purposes*)

Around almost 5:00am when we started our hike. Still dark but totally manageable. Basically, I must say we are on little bit on a rush. I was begging to be on the camping site before Mr. Sun show up.

5:00am++ view and sun is sneaking out

Along our way, I observe the sight is changing.. from a busy mountain hills we started our journey, to a man made road which is made by a local mining before to mountains with more of tall cogon grasses and no trees.

After an hour of trekking, finally I've meet Kapayawan Ridge. The ever trending on social media and mountaineer's blog.
First Sight of Kapayawan Ridge Camp Site

I could not barely explain my feelings. I am in mixed emotion. Overwhelmed. Surprised. In love. In awe. Fulfilled. Happy. Grateful. And I am super very impressed of Kapayawan's beautiful scenic view.

I feel like, once again I am one with the nature.

I could not help but be THANKFUL to GOD for HIS marvelous creation. I said in my heart: Oh GOD this is way too beautiful!!

AND Lucky enough! I arrived on the camp site MINUTES before Mr. Sun came out.

Kapayawan
Just in Time: Hello there Mr. SUN

And I do love the view. I love everything about it. The mountains. The plains. The clearings. If only I could just stand there and insanely clapping my hands to praise nature.

Following my first climb. I decided to climb again at Kapayawan. That was January 27-28, 2017. But this time, with my super friends and we are staying up overnight.

We embarked from same area (Ant Farm) night of January 27. We head up around 7:00pm.

My Super Friends. Kim, Riza, Kim's cousin Arar, Bench, Bernie and Sonia. All set for Kapayawan Ridge adventure.

A night trek is an advantage I must say. The benefit of the fresh cold weather and minus the scorching heat of the sun. That makes the trek a lot easier.

Since of course the weather by such time is cooperating very well and then we don't have any reason to rush. We totally did enjoy the night trek.

Everyone is expecting the star-gazing for that night and of course the sunrise next morning.

But unfortunately, no star-gazing for that night since the clouds is quite heavy. And around 3:00am, suddenly comes the rain.

BUT! Lucky enough. I have witnessed the other beautiful side of Kapayawan Ridge. It's beauty when the weather is crying and sad and cold. The beauty of mountain ridge barely showed up being covered with clouds.

My heart skip a bit. When I came out from our tent and see CLOUDS!! CLOUDS!! CLOUDS!! CLOUDS everywhere.

Not much of mountain ridges view this time. But it is still very beautiful. I was just standing there, undistructed by the rain - in awe. I am surprised it remained beautiful despite the weather. I am so happy that I am literally teary eyed.

It was indeed, another spectacular show of Kapayawan Ridge.

It feels like cloud 9. Once again, the view touches my soul. My heart. My depth sensitivity. Again I am in awe of this one's God creation. Magnificent and spectacular.

It was a beautiful journey after all. And it didn't stop us. And it didn't disappoint us in any point.

I am in awe. Always in awe.

And I totally recommending Kapayawan Ridge a must to visit. A trekking MUST try. A goal to set. As much as it overwhelmed us, it will not disappoint you in any single cost. Rest assured.
